Abstract

In the last decade the evolution of SELEX and microfluidics methodology brings us an excellent tool for the design of news Aptamers. The new RNA aptamers developed and their improvement are increasing the applications of these biological molecules in diverse topic: as Bio-sensors, therapy, Bio-Imaging, etc. GFP protein has been the most used tool in Bio-Imaging for fluoresce assays.

However a RNA aptamer called Spinach offers nowadays much more advantages.

However, the evolution of Spinach continued, and Dr. Ryckelynck ´s team evolved Spinach, they published recently the best version, until now, of this fluoresce RNA aptamer. I selected this RNA aptamer as example to explain with details general aptamer properties, in which project I was involved.
