Prof. Dr. Felix Ritort has been elected member of the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts of Barcelona

Prof. Dr. Felix Ritort, Full Professor in Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Barcelona (UB), group leader of Felix Ritort Lab and ICREA Research Professor, has been elected as a member of the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts of Barcelona (RACAB), Section 2a. Physics.

RACAB is an association of scholars of science and its applications, restricted by the number and selection of its members and which purpose is to act as a reference element in the field of Catalan culture and society that promotes everything related to applied sciences and arts. RACAB is member ALL European Academies (ALLEA).

This appointment undoubtedly represents recognition of his scientific research at the frontiers of physics, chemistry, and biology. His lab is a worldwide reference in researching the thermodynamics and nonequilibrium behavior of small systems using single-molecule methods. The aim is to understand the principles governing energy processes at the nanoscale relevant for life.
