Prof. Dr. Felix Ritort, honored by the ICREA Academia 2023 programme

Prof. Dr. Felix Ritort has been recognized by the ICREA Academia 2023 programme for his outstanding scientific career in the field of experimental sciences and mathematics.

This programme, promoted by the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA)–Government of Catalonia, aims to enhance research talent in Catalan universities, providing funding to support their research projects for five years.
He already received this recognition in 2008, 2013 and 2018.

Prof. Dr. Felix Ritort is Full Professor in Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Barcelona (UB). He chairs the Division of Physics for Life Sciences of the European Physical Society (EPS) and he is also member of the Biological Physics Commission (C6) of the International Union of Pure and Applied Sciences (IUPAP).

His lab is a worldwide reference in researching the thermodynamics and nonequilibrium behavior of small systems using single-molecule methods. The aim is to understand the principles governing energy processes at the nanoscale relevant for life.
